Q: Why do I need a CTP when I have a comprehensive car insurance?
A: Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance is compulsory. You cannot register a vehicle in Australia without it.
CTP insures you or any other driver of your vehicle against liability for death or injuries you may inflict on other road users as a result of a motor vehicle accident for which you or the driver of your vehicle are at fault. Coverage extends to passengers of all vehicles involved in the accident, pedestrians and cyclists.
Q: What is not covered by CTP?
A: As CTP Insurance is a type of third party personal injury insurance, it does not cover injuries sustained by you or the driver of your vehicle and it does not cover any property damage you may cause through the use of your vehicle.
Q: What is At Fault Driver Protection?
A: CIC Allianz offers additional At Fault Driver Protection Insurance to CTP customers at no extra charge. At Fault Driver Protection insurance provides prescribed benefits to you or any other driver of your vehicle for certain severe injuries sustained in an accident that was your fault.
Q: What if I sell my car?
A: CTP Insurance is attached to your motor vehicle registration. When you sell your car, the CTP Insurance will be transferred to the next registered owner.
Q: Where do I plug this device?
A: You plug LogbookMe into the on-board diagnostics (OBD-II) port in your car. Most OBD-II ports are located under the driver’s side of the dashboard around the bottom of the steering column.
Q: Do I need to get the device professionally installed?
A: LogbookMe is simple to self-install and typically takes just 2 minutes. Plus, our online video tutorial guides you with step-by-step commentary. Of course, if you get stuck, our customer service team is always available for help. Call them on 1300 387 592.
Q: What information does it collect, and how will this help me?
A: LogbookMe captures data on your braking, acceleration and driving speed, to help you identify unsafe driving. It also gives you tips on what you can do to become a safer driver.
Q: Why do I need an Extended Warranty when I have a Comprehensive car insurance?
A: Comprehensive insurance covers damage to your vehicle as well as damage to the property of others. Whereas Extended Warranty cover protects your car from mechanical failure or breakdown outside its warranty period.
Q: What does Extended Warranty cover?
A: Extended Warranty provides cover for failure of mechanical and electrical components, such as the engine, electrical systems, steering, transmission, air-conditioning and heating, fuel systems and more.
Q: Can I transfer my Extended Warranty Policy?
A: You may be able to transfer your policy if you sell your car privately. A transfer form is included with the policy documentation and is also available on request from ERIC customer service team on 1800 999 977.
